The castle achieved worldwide fame as the filming location for Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in *Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and *Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The iconic Outer Bailey was transformed into the Hogwarts courtyard, where Harry Potter first learned to fly a broomstick during Madam Hooch's flying lesson. Today, visitors can even take part in broomstick training experiences inspired by the films. Alnwick Castle has also appeared in numerous other productions, including Downton Abbey, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Elizabeth, Transformers: The Last Knight, and Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves. Beyond its cinematic appeal, the castle features impressive art collections, medieval architecture, seasonal events and stunning gardens nearby, making it one of northern England's most popular historic attractions and filming locations.
