El camping despegó a lo largo de la costa adriática de Croacia a partir de los años 60, cuando el país (entonces parte de Yugoslavia) se convirtió en un destino importante para turistas nacionales e internacionales atraídos por sus playas y clima templado. Istria y el Golfo de Kvarner fueron primeros centros de campings costeros, muchos de los cuales se han convertido en grandes parques vacacionales de estilo resort con piscinas y alojamiento variado. Perched on a hilltop overlooking the Zagorje countryside, Veliki Tabor is one of Croatia's most recognisable medieval castles. Built mainly during the 15th and 16th centuries, the fortress belonged to powerful noble families including the Ráttkay family.

Varaždin

Located in the historic city of Varaždin, Stari Grad Castle is one of northern Croatia's most important medieval fortresses. Originally built as a defensive stronghold, it was transformed over centuries into a Renaissance and Baroque residence.

Battle of Gvozd Mountain (1097)

The Battle of Gvozd Mountain was one of the most important turning points in early Croatian history. Fought in 1097, it marked the defeat of the Croatian king Petar Svačić by the Hungarian forces of King Coloman during a period of political transition.

Battle of Sisak (1593)
Sisak

The Battle of Sisak was one of the most important victories in Croatian military history. Fought in 1593 near the confluence of the Kupa, Sava and Odra rivers, Croatian and Habsburg forces defeated a much larger Ottoman army.

Battle of Krbava Field (1493)
Lika Region

The Battle of Krbava Field was one of the most dramatic medieval battles in Croatian history. Fought between Croatian noble forces and the Ottoman army in 1493, it resulted in a devastating defeat for the Croatian side.

Salona Ancient City
Solin

Salona is the most important Roman archaeological site in Croatia and was once the capital of the Roman province of Dalmatia. It became a thriving city with forums, temples, an amphitheatre, aqueducts, city walls and one of the earliest Christian communities in the region.
